Fifth Business has been sharing songs about rural living and problematic behaviors for over a dozen years, bringing their blend of original and traditional music to the farmers’ markets and town halls of the Northeast Kingdom.
You could call it folk music, but there’s no kumbaya or granola involved, just Nick Anzalone’s genre-defying fiddle, Stuart Corso’s lively button accordion, Steve Davie’s expressive guitar and octave mandolin, and vocals and random percussion from Heather Alger and Kate Davie.
Leaving songs about mate selection to the younger set, Fifth Business’ music addresses some of life’s more practical questions – what is the best way to save for retirement, how can we achieve contentment in today’s political climate, and that perennial poser, what is worn under the kilt? It’s only art sometimes, but it’s always fun!
Concert free with park entry. Meets near the shelter.
