Jamaica State Park, which stretches between Jamaica and
Londonderry in southeastern Vermont, offers camping, hiking, swimming, and
outstanding fishing on the West River. The family-friendly West River Trail, which follows the path of the old West River Railroad, is
ideal for walking, hiking, jogging, or biking. Continue on to the Hamilton
Falls Trail for a view of Hamilton Falls, a stunning waterfall and a great
place to stop for a picnic. Every September, visitors flock to the park for the
release of the Ball Mountain Dam, a favorite event for whitewater paddlers.
